ReTuBi: Towards Outstanding Research and Training in Tumour Biology

Cancer is a worldwide leading cause of death and is a major public health issue. It has also an impact in economic growth, through premature death and disability arising from cancer. Moreover, it has been estimated that 1 in 2 people in the European Union will get cancer in their lifetime. The Instituto de Medicina Molecular – João Lobo Antunes (iMM) aims to fight this destructive disease by reinforcing its capacity for outstanding pre-clinical and translation research. The overall goal is to strengthen iMM in REsearch in TUmour BIology through the establishment of a network of interactions between iMM in Portugal, Institut Curie in France and the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) in Germany.
