What iMM seeks: At this moment, iMM is looking for a highly qualified and experienced Head of Metabolomics to guide our metabolomics-based clinical and translational research. The ideal candidate will employ their expertise in metabolomics to enrich our understanding of disease mechanisms and propel our basic, clinical, and translational research endeavors, under the Teaming project iMM-CARE – Boosting clinical research for the benefit of society, funded by the European Commission, to execute the following activities:
- Lead the strategic development and execution of metabolomics research to advance disease-specific missions and bolster our drug discovery efforts.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including clinicians, bioinformaticians, data scientists, and molecular biologists, to design and orchestrate metabolomics studies for biomarker and drug discovery.
- Oversee the generation, analysis, and interpretation of comprehensive metabolomics data for the identification and validation of novel biomarkers and drug targets.
- Implement innovative digital technologies to refine the metabolomics research pipeline, enhance drug discovery processes, and open new avenues for therapeutic intervention.
- Supervise, mentor, and support our research community in the metabolomics studies
- Pursue an active participation in relevant national, EU and international networks and initiatives related with metabolomics.
- Contribute to grant writing, publications, and presentations related to metabolomics research and drug discovery.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of metabolomics and implement relevant innovations within the organization.
