Regulação de Linfócitos
O laboratório de investigação em Imunologia Celular estuda mecanismos de indução e manutenção de tolerância imunitária. Estudamos doenças, ou modelos animais de doenças, em que o sistema imunitário tem uma acção inapropriada, tais como autoimunidade, transplantação ou alergia.
Procuramos reprogramar o sistema imunitário, induzindo a expansão de células T reguladoras capazes de restabelecer o estado de tolerância. Tentamos sempre que possível validar os nossos resultados experimentais em colaboração com cientistas clínicos.
