Meet the Bioimaging Unit

Head of Unit

José Rino has a Licenciatura in Technological Physics Engineering (Instituto Superior Técnico) and a PhD in Biophysics (Faculdade de Ciências). José has managed the Bioimaging Unit since January 2008 and was appointed Head in July 2009, after postdoctoral research at the iMM (Carmo-Fonseca Lab) focused on applying quantitative microscopy methods to study mRNA biogenesis. Between 2013 and 2016 José was also responsible for the Optical Imaging and Microscopy Platform of the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown, Lisbon.
