"la Caixa" Postdoctoral Junior Leader Fellowships
The "la Caixa" Postdoctoral Junior Leader Fellowships program is aimed at recruiting excellent researchers of any nationality who wish to continue their research career in Spain or Portugal in the areas of health and life sciences, technology, physics, engineering and mathematics. This fellowship aims to promote high quality, innovative research and to support excellent scientists.
The "la Caixa" Postdoctoral Junior Leader Fellowships program has two frames:
- Incoming call
25 postdoctoral fellowships of 3 years for researchers of any nationality who are offered an employment contract to carry out a research project at Portuguese centres evaluated as excellent by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia de Portugal. For Portuguese institutions candidates must have resided in Portugal for less than 12 months in the last 3 years.

25 postdoctoral fellowships of 3 years for researchers of any nationality who are offered an employment contract to carry out a research project at Portuguese centres evaluated as excellent by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia de Portugal. For Portuguese institutions candidates must have resided in Portugal for less than 12 months in the last 3 years.

Incoming Call
”la Caixa” Foundation grants 25 postdoctoral fellowships for researchers of any nationality to carry out a research project in a STEM discipline at universities and research centres of accredited excellence.
Requirements:
To be eligible for admission, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Experience: to have been awarded a PhD between two and seven years prior to the closing date of the call. The date of obtaining the PhD will be understood as the date the doctoral thesis is defended. Special deadlines apply for candidates with interrupted research careers.
- Mobility:For candidates interested in Portuguese units: candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Portugal for more than 12 months in the three years immediately preceding the closing date of the call. Short stays, such as vacations, will not be taken into account.Special deadlines will apply for candidates with interrupted research careers and for those who've gone through the process to obtain refugee status under the Geneva Convention.
- Complete application: only candidates whose application meets all the requirements of the call may be admitted.

Retaining Call
”la Caixa” Foundation grants 15 postdoctoral fellowships for researchers of any nationality to carry out a research project in a STEM discipline at any university or research centre.
Requirements:
To be eligible for admission, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Experience:Have been awarded a PhD between two and seven years prior to the closing date of the call. The date of obtaining the PhD will be understood as the date the doctoral thesis is defended. Special deadlines apply for candidates with interrupted research careers.Candidates must have carried out research stays at a centre or university outside Portugal, during their doctoral or postdoctoral studies, for a total of at least 6 months before the closing date of the call.
- Mobility:For candidates interested in Portuguese centres or universities: candidates must have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Portugal for more than 12 months in the three years immediately preceding the closing date of the call.Special deadlines will apply for candidates with interrupted research careers and for those who've gone through the process to obtain refugee status under the Geneva Convention.
