<b>Mariana Fernandes</b> has a MSc degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She had her first contact with flow cytometry while working as a research technician and during her Master’s. During this time, she was involved in several projects focused in characterizing the internalization of classic and new antileishmanial drugs or compounds by macrophages infected with Leishmania spp. Her first flow cytometry work began in 2015, as a technician in the Flow Cytometry Unit at iMM. Afterwards, she moved to the IGC Flow Cytometry Facility as a Research Support Specialist, where she worked for several years. With the obtained experience, she embraced a new challenge, going to the Institute of Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Immunology at Charité – Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, where she set up and managed the new Benjamin Franklin Flow Cytometry Facility. In 2021, she was appointed as Head of Flow Cytometry Unit at Instituto de Medicina Molecular João Lobo Antunes (iMM). Mariana is currently Head of the Flow Cytometry Platform at the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine.<br>

<b>Ana Bolas </b> has a background in Biology and holds a Master's in Biomedical Sciences. She did her PhD in the same field with a specialization in Parasitology at the Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical, Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Throughout her academic and professional career, she has specialized in molecular diagnostics, immunology, parasitology, and translational research. Before joining the GIMM Flow Cytometry Platform in August 2026, Ana had worked both as a Laboratory Supervisor and as a Laboratory Technician in a Veterinary Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, contributing to the development, optimization, and implementation of laboratory workflows and diagnostic procedures.  Ana is currently Flow Cytometry Technician at the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine.

<b>André Branco </b> has a background based in Biological Engineering (Integrated MSc), followed by PhD in Bioengineering, both from Instituto Superior Técnico. Before joining the iMM Flow Cytometry Unit in July 2024, André was part of the Stem Cell Engineering Research Group at the Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences (iBB), mainly working on translation and manufacturing of cell-based therapies, with a special focus on hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells derived from umbilical cord blood. André is currently Manager (Oeiras Site) and Flow Cytometry Specialist at the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine.<br>

<b>Andreia Santos</b> has a BSc in Biology and a MSc in Genetic and Molecular Biology from Faculdade de Ciências, Universidade de Lisboa. Andreia joined the iMM Flow Cytometry Unit in September 2017 after working at Ana Espada de Sousa’s lab on human T-cell development, namely the role of IL-4 in the lineage plasticity of human CD4 single positive thymocytes. Andreia is currently Flow Cytometry Specialist at the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine.<br>

<b>Maria Neves</b> has a BSc in Biology from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologias, Universidade de Coimbra and a MSc in Biochemistry and Biomedicine from Faculdade de Ciências, Universidade de Lisboa. Maria joined the iMM Flow Cytometry Unit in June 2024, after working at Molecular Mechanisms of Disease under the supervision of Rita Carlos, where she studied the genomic and physiologic effects of pollution on skin cells. Maria is currently Flow Cytometry Technician at the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine.<br>

<b>Nuno Lopes </b> has a background based in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Biotecnhology, followed by a PhD in Molecular Biosciences (Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica António Xavier, Universidade 
NOVA de Lisboa) where he delved onto defining signatures of glycan epitopes expressed on breast cancer cells, shedding insights on the modulation of immunosuppressive-like macrophages. Before joining the GIMM Flow Cytometry Unit in April 2025, Nuno was a research fellow and responsible for the flow cytometry site at the Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (iBET). Nuno is currently Senior Flow Cytometry Technician at the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine.<br>

<b>Rute Gonçalves</b> has a BSc in Biochemistry from University of Coimbra and a MSc in Molecular Genetics and Biomedicine from Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Rute joined the iMM Flow Cytometry Unit in December 2018, after working at the Immunobiology and Pathogenesis Lab at CEDOC. She was also responsible for CEDOC’s Flow Cytometry Facility from April 2018 to October 2018, providing cell sorting services, supporting researchers and performing all the daily equipment maintenance and quality control. Rute is currently  Manager (Lisbon Site) and Flow Cytometry Specialist at the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine.<br>

<b>Sónia Pereira </b> Sónia Pereira has a BSc in Biology and a MSc in Microbiology, both from the University of Aveiro.  Sónia joined the GIMM Flow Cytometry Platform in November 2024, after leaving the iMM’s Rodents Unity. Sónia is also in the final steps of her PhD developed at the GIMM´s Biology and Physiology of Malaria lab, led by professor Maria M. Mota. Sónia is currently Flow Cytometry Technician at the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine.<br>
