===== System overview =====

The BD FACS Discover S8 is the first cell sorter that **__integrates imaging and full-spectrum capabilities__**. This versatile sorter offers both traditional sorting using standard fluorescent parameters, typical of conventional full-spectrum sorters, and advanced imaging features, which can be visualized through histograms and bivariate plots. This significant innovation allows cells to be sorted not only based on the proteins they express but also by the spatial distribution of those proteins within the cell.

  * Five lasers with ultra-violet (349nm), violet (405 nm), blue (488 nm), yellow-green (561 nm) and red (637 nm)

  * The fully integrated Class II Type A2 biosafety cabinet meets personal and product protection, reducing the risk of operator exposure, while sorting potentially hazardous samples (e.g human samples and other BSL-2 level samples).

The system is available for booking from 10am to 6pm from Monday to Friday. 

The cell sorting service is provided by a dedicated technician upon reservation on the online booking system. 
The system can be booked up to 1 month in advance.
