BioImaging Workshop, 13 - 15 July 2010

Introduction

Carl Zeiss MicroImaging and Instituto de Medicina Molecular are happy to invite you to the Zeiss On Your Campus - 2010 this year focused on live cell imaging and featuring the latest ZEISS microscopes and application solutions. As a microscopy user, you will have an excellent oportunity to learn about advanced techniques as well as use high-end systems. Get three days of inspiration from top imaging experts and colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere, we are looking forward to show you the newest developments on live cell imaging. This meeting gives you a unique opportunity to participate in short seminars and hands-on sessions about optimizing the handling and use of new systems, know their comparative strengths and try them with your own samples. The course will take place in IMM Lisbon, from 13 - 15th July 2010.

The Systems

All hands-on sessions will be done with the latest ZEISS microscopes and application solutions:

  • Vivatome - Structured illumination system
  • Cell Observer SD - Spinning Disk Confocal
  • DirectFRAP - Photomanipulation system
  • LSM 780 - Laser Scanning Confocal

Some of the topics that will be covered:

  • Gentle live cell imaging: Optimizing imaging parameters
  • Kinetic Measurements: Photomanipulation techniques and fluorescent proteins
  • 3-D live cell imaging: Dedicated optical sectioning methods
  • Superresolution: Light microscopy beyond the classical resolution limit

Registration

Attendance at these workshops is free of charge. Educational materials and free software for image viewing and manipulation will be provided. There will be breaks for coffee and lunch but no meals will be provided to participants. The course is limited to 45 participants. Registrations are closed. Thank you for your interest.
