The IVIS Lumina LT fluorescence/bioluminescence imaging system is equipped with 2D bioluminescence, fluorescence, and radioisoptic (Cerenkov) imaging capabilities, providing high sensitivity, ease of use, and flexibility to image fluorescent and/or bioluminescent reporters both in vivo and in vitro. The system includes a highly sensitive CCD camera, a light-tight imaging chamber with complete computer automation, and the Living Image software package for image acquisition and analysis.
Features:
Data files older than 3 months will be automatically deleted on this system, please copy your data to the GIMM server using the desktop link.
Additionally, IVIS Lumina LT is equipped with a SomnoFlo® anaesthesia system for experiments with live animals using isoflurane. This system allows the use of smaller amounts of anaesthesia when carrying out live-imaging experiments, keeps mice stable during image acquisition, and reduces their recovery time, preventing the loss of animals. The setup is currently able to keep up to three mice receiving vaporized isoflurane inside the IVIS Lumina LT, while being imaged at the same time.
Users that are planning on using the anaesthesia system should contact the Rodent Platform's designated veterinarian, Daniel Costa (daniel.costa@gimm.pt), to schedule a training session.
