Super-resolution microscopy represents a group of recent techniques that can break the diffraction-limited resolution barrier (less than 200 nm). This workshop will introduce the principles and present the most recent advances of super-resolution microscopy, focusing on structured illumination microscopy (SIM). The workshop is designed for cell biologists with prior experience in light microscopy that are interested in using super-resolution for their research. It will consist of lectures focusing on the theoretical understanding of super-resolution microscopy and practical hands-on sessions in the microscopes where participants will learn how to correctly set-up and acquire super-resolved images. The workshop will feature the new Zeiss Elyra 7 with Lattice SIM* and will include time to image participants samples.
The workshop is open and free of charge to all CAML members and external participants. The hands-on component of the workshop is limited to 20 participants (selection based on workshop application letter).
