===== Printer description ===== The Bambu Lab X1E 3D printer is a CoreXY Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) printer, with heated bed, heated chamber, and an AMS unit that holds up to 4 filament rolls. With a printing area of 256x256x256 mm, a gantry that moves up to 500 mm/s and a textured PEI printbed, the X1E is capable of printing big prints and for long hours without bed adhesion issues. The 0.4 mm nozzle allows for versatile prints, from 0.08 up to 0.28 mm layer heights, along with a hotend capable of reaching 320ºC for engineering grade materials, as well as a heated bed that reaches 110ºC. ===== Printer use and rules ===== This printer is available to the GIMM community upon training, or for users that show they have enough 3D printing knowledge from 9h00 to 17h30, Monday through Friday, and is only to be used for scientific or educational purposes. Until further notice, each group is responsible for their own 3D filament, that can be either PLA or PETG, in the colours black, white and natural. No other filament is allowed unless discussed in advance with the Bioimaging Platform. The Bioimaging Platform highly recommends Fil3D filament, due to their quality-price ratio, and their partnership in getting back failed prints and supports to produce new, recycled filament. Other brands can be discussed, but optimizations might be required. ---- [[resources|Back to the Equipment page]]
