    BD FACSAria incorporates a flow cell with fixed alignment, allowing high levels of sensitivity to the fluorescence and facilitating maintenance and alignment. Allows high-velocity separation of particles and cells, maintaining cell viability, cell separation under conditions of safety for the user, allowing for processing samples of infected human cells. The safety of the user is at a maximum thanks to the flow chamber and the collection of the sample are completely closed, the integrated management of aerosols. The maximum configuration provides up to 15 parameters for analysis (13 fluorescence and two parameters of morphology). It can separate until four cellular populations simultaneously. Lasers fully pre-aligned 488nm (blue), 633nm (Red) and 407nm (Green), cooled by air, the excitation light directed by fiber optics to the prisms of focus and detection chamber. The fluorescence signal is collected by photo-multiplier tube of high performance (Hammamatsu), within a spectral range between 200nm 800nm.

    Elix 10 UV: type II water production system, combining reverse osmosis technology with deionized self-regenerating, produce 10 liters of water per hour. The Elix system combines four stages of purification:

    PASCAL pressure sensor uses a piezoelectric crystal, embedded in the center of a tip surface shaped and concave. This tip, when in contact with the corneal surface, measures the intraocular pressure without distortion, since it makes the applanation of the cornea.     Complete system for the creation, research and investigation of zebra fish. Clean water coming from the Water Treatment Unit is supplied to each rack via the clean water plenum and then conduced to each tank by means of a dedicate pipe and tap. Waste water is drained through a special pipe positioned inside the tank and conveyed to the Water Treatment Unit via the waste water plenum.

    Inside the water Treatment Unit, waste water pH and conductivity levels are checked and adjusted if necessary by means of the automatic dosing system, the water is driven through a biological filter and temperatures levels are checked and adjusted (heated or cooled) if they are out of the pre-set range. Water is then pumped through a mechanical cartridge filter and a charcoal filter before being sterilized with a UV lamp and driven back to the rack ready to be distributed to each tank.

    The standard elevated plus-maze is commonly used to assess anxiety-like behavior in laboratory animals (rats/mice). The maze is usually a cross shaped maze with two open arms and two closed arms, which is elevated above the floor. This task exploits the conflict between the innate fear that rodents have of open areas versus their desire to explore novel environments. Security is provided by the closed arms whereas the open arms offer exploratory value. When anxious, the natural tendency of rodents is to prefer enclosed dark spaces to opened brightly lit spaces. In this context, anxiety-related behavior is measured by the degree to which the rodent avoids the unenclosed arms of the maze.

    MyCycler thermal cycler provides fast and high sample throughput with its 96-well sample capacity and rapid heating and cooling technology.     The MyCycler Thermal cycler with temperature gradient option allows input of a temperature gradient of 1–25 degrees in total temperature span at temperatures as low as 30°C and as high as 99°C.     Narishige's M-3333 is a thin three –axis coarse/fine micromanipulator. To enable recording from multiple microelectrodes, the body of this model is made as thin as possible, with all the handles positioned in a single direction. Use of the X-Rotating X-Blocks (sold separately), makes it possible to place many microelectrodes close together without taking up to much space. It is of course possible to mount a single-axis fine movement unit on the X-axis for a more careful approach to the specimen.

    The Axopatch 200B patch clamp offers unsurpassed performance intight-seal patch clamp for single-channel and whole-cell voltage and current clamping. Its noise in single-channel recording is the lowest of any available patch clamp. Three headstage settings offer an extremely widerange of recording capability, from single-channel to loose path to whole-cell. The Axopatch 200B achieves its ultra-low noise performance by cooling components of the innovative capacity feedback circuitry used for single-channel recording. For whole-cell recording, the noise benefits of the capacitive feedback technique are swamped by the noise sources of the electrode and the membrane capacitance. Since the noise benefits cannot be realized, and at the same frequency of resets in high because of the large average currents, the Axopatch 200B uses the traditional resistive-feedback technique for whole-cell recording.

    Patch clamping is a pwerful tecnhique that permits the direct observations of the behavior of the small ionic currents that flow through a single ion channel protein.

    The Digidata 1440A digitizer is a high‐resolution, low‐noise digitizer intended for precision scientific applications. It is particularly designed for electrophysiology experiments, to send and receive signals from microelectrode amplifiers, and to interact with peripheral instruments such as solution changers and stimulators. The Digidata 1440A digitizer digitizes its 16 independent analog input channels at up to 250 kHz each, and has four independent 16‐bit analog outputs. There are eight digital output lines, as well as Tag and Start digital inputs.The Digidata 1440A digitizer is a plug‐and‐play device, so it is automatically recognized by Windows. The Digidata 1440A digitizer is supported on Windows systems by AxoScope 10 and by pCLAMP's Clampex 10. AxoScope is an easy‐to‐use, full‐featured data acquisition program for Windows that is included with the Digidata 1440A digitizer.
