Bio
I am Biologist with emphasis on Genetics
from Universidad
del Valle in Cali, Colombia. I carried out
my Master's and PhD studies at the Laboratory
of Genome Structure and Function at the Tokyo
Institute of Technology, working during
this period as Research Assistant at the University
of Tokyo and later on at the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research (Laboratory of Experimental Pathology).
For my postdoctoral research, I decided to jump from the
chromatin structure field into the world of
alternative splicing and transcriptional
regulation by joining the NMorais Lab in
2015. Since then, I've been focused on the
characterisation of alterations in the
alternative splicing program in colorectal
cancer and how these perturbations contribute
to disease progression and prognosis, using
publicly available molecular and clinical data
from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) project.
